Denver Lions Club Video - You got to watch this
To help celebrate our 100 years the Centennial Committee developed a Centennial Video.  This video is a combination of the Clubs history and several of our Lions talking about our service and what Lions means to them. This video can be used to promote Lions and the Denver Lions Club.  To see the video click here.  It will take you to the YouTube video.   Thanks to all on the Centennial Committee for all their work on the video.

Why you should go to the Lion State Convention
Many ask why I should go to a Lion convention.   This years convention will be like no other.  Here  is why.

This year we are celebrating 100 years of Lions in Colorado.  This year’s combined State/Districts convention will be fitting for this celebration.  Through surveys and interviews over more than a year, we have feedback from Lions throughout Colorado on what they want in the Lions convention. What we have heard is Lions want Service, Learning, Fellowship, Interaction and Fun

This celebration convention will have it all.  We have Service Projects with a touch of competition between districts.  This will have some amazing rewards.  The service projects will include Vison, Youth, Hunger and Environment

We will have Learning Breakout Sessions with new ideas you can use.  Through the feedback from Lions we know the topics you want to hear.  The goal is learning something you can use now.

We heard loud and clear Lions want a more Interactive convention.  We will have this through the new format Lions Program Breakout Sessions as well as the Service Project and Learning Session Breakout Sessions.
Fellowship is just all of the convention!  From all the breakout sessions to the meals to the hospitality suites to meeting Past International President Joe Preston. This convention will have a lot more opportunities for fellowship.

This convention will be more fun like no other.  If not just being together is not enough fun, we will have professional comedian - motivational speaker, Brad Montgomery.  He is good. He has spoken to major corporations and non-profits.  Just one of his awards was being inducted into the Speaker Hall of Fame.  Check on him at www.bradmontgomery.com

Yes, coming to the convention costs money. But you are getting a lot of value for your money.  In addition to everything listed above you get, to name a few – great meals (not the normal convention food), snack breaks in the morning and afternoon, commemorative 100 year program, name badges, convention pin.

It is in Denver at the DoubleTree at Orchard and I 25  on May 19 - 20.  The Denver Lions have three members running for office:  Dwight Steen, Eye Bank Board;  Flossie O'Leary, Lion Camp Board; Steve Kinsky, District Governor.  Need your Vote.

Most of all, you will celebrate 100 years of Lions in Colorado with your fellow Lions.

Member Survey on Mixers
This coming fall we are changing the format of our meetings and mixers.  One of our goals is to improve the mixer format.  As with other surveys, it is valuable to the Club Officers and Board to have input from members on mixers.  The only way we can improve is with your input.

Grill Masters needed at Lion Camp
Calling all grill masters! The Colorado Lions Camp has a great opportunity to get plugged in to our camp programs. We are looking for Lions Clubs, service organizations, or families to come to camp on Sunday afternoon and grill hotdogs and hamburgers for our campers and staff while the campers are checking in for their week at camp. The camp provides all the supplies. This is an excellent way to see the camp and to bring new members and show Colorado Lions oldest State project in action!

We just need volunteers that will help cook, serve, and meet our fabulous campers and staff! We need at least 6 volunteers. No experience necessary - just a love to 'serve"!
For more information, call the camp at 719-687-2087 or email us and let us know if you can help!
How much is volunteer time worth?

National Volunteer Appreciation Week

How much is an hour of volunteer time worth? The answer is $24.14 an hour, and in Colorado it is worth $25.97 an hour.  . Without you and all of the countless hours you put in we would be at a loss, and so would those in the many communities we serve. Thanks to all the Lion Volunteers!!
We will celebrate the 100 year birthday of Denver Lions on Saturday October 14, 2017.   Put this date on your calendaer
