Lions - We Serve a lot
The service that Lions provide is not only incredible, it is in great demand, and is critical to the health and wellbeing of people everywhere! As of the date of this article (June 25, 2017), our district has reported 1,240 activates  encompassing 18,685 Lion hours, serving 93,482 people with 740 participants, collected 38,811 pairs of eyeglasses, planted 273 trees, raised $64,618 and donated $97,500. OUTSTANDING! Here is the scary part… many clubs are not reporting everything they do, and twenty percent of our clubs have not reported their ANY activities! Our numbers are even greater than what is shown! The Lions of MD 6C truly live our mo0o, “WE SERVE,” to its fullest. For every participant in a Lions activity, “WE SERVE” 126 people in our community!
Save the Date - Mixer  August 24
With the change in meeting format we want to have mixers at interesting locations. Our first mixer will be hosted by Walter Fullerton at the Fairmount Cemetery, one of Denver's oldest cemeteries.

Founded in 1890, Fairmount is Denver’s third oldest cemetery.  So many milestones of Colorado’s diverse history are represented at Fairmount: the earliest settlers, Veterans, leaders of industry, Civil Rights pioneers, early educators and many more; at every turn the past surrounds you. It is the home to collections of unique art and architecture; impressive examples can be seen in many styles: Victorian, Greek revival, Gothic, Neo-classical, Egyptian and Exotic Revival.  The Fairmount Community Mausoleum is home to the largest collection of stained glass windows in Colorado and Riverside has the largest know collection of zinc monuments in North America.

Date:   Thursday August 24, 2017

Time:   Walking tour   4 to 5 pm,   Mixer 5 to 6:30 pm, possibly a short tour at 5pm

Location:   Fairmount Cemetery, 430 S Quebec St, Denver, CO 80247

Directions:  Park inside the Quebec Street Gate.  Mixer is in the Main Building.

Thanks to:  Lion Walter Fullerton for hosting.
