Mike Nelson
- I am married to Billi, and we have 6 children and five grandchildren.
- I graduated from Illinois State University with a B.S. in Accounting.
- I am from Peoria, Illinois.
- I am semi-retired – I recently left a national accounting firm and began working with a fellow local CPA preparing tax returns.
- I like Lions because I am interested in serving my community, and I appreciate the cause.
- I am interested in socializing and providing service to the community.
- My very first job was a stockboy at a dairy/convenience store.
- I earned my black belt in Taekwondo.
- Three words that describe me are honest, dependable, and friendly.
- I am happy when spending time with family and when I am cycling.
- Causes – I fundraise for Alzheimer’s and for the Samaritan House (homeless shelter) in Denver.
- I want to visit New Orleans. Louisiana is the only state I have not visited.
- At 10 years old, I had no idea what I wanted to be, but a few years later, I got interested in photography and thought it would be a nice career.
- I served on active duty and in the reserves in the Navy. I retired after 20 years with the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
