Title: Manager of Discarded Eyeglasses
 
Purpose: The COLERC process generates unusable eyeglasses, which are shipped to a recycler in California for further processing. This position manages the collection and shipment of these glasses.
 
Tasks: (some can be combined)
·       Check the ReSpec boxes inside COLERC and empty them into the Gaylord containers about every other week
·       When a Gaylord is full, strap it and start a new Gaylord.  About every other month
·       When have eight Gaylords full contact ReSpec for shipping. About twice a year.
·       Arrange to meet the trucker for picking up Gaylords
·       Pickup pallets, empty Gaylords, and lids from Food Bank of the Rockies – About twice a year.
 
Time Commitment (including travel)
·       Checking on ReSpec boxes and filling Gaylord – 1 hour every two weeks
·       Strapping Gaylords – 1 hour every other month
·       Contacting ReSpec for shipping and waiting for the trucker to pick up – 2 hours twice a year.
·       Pickup from Food Bank of the Rockies – 1 hour twice a year.
 
 A detailed job description is available and training will be provided.
 
This role is currently handled by two volunteers in their 80s and would benefit from being taken on a younger Lion member.
