Summer is here!
 
That means the kids are out of school, summer vacations are being planned, and Lions are busy with community projects! Here are some VISION projects you can be part of.
 
The FREE White Cane Project is close to the 100 Cane Benchmark. Thanks to the Loveland Lions Club for donating $1000.00 to the project! Thanks to Aftersight for managing the project. Each club and individual who has donated to the FREE White Project. We can not do it alone. Here is the list of towns where Aftersight has shipped canes to in the past year: Arvada, Aurora, Boulder, Brighton, Canon City, Castle Rock, Centennial, Colorado Springs, Commerce City, Denver, Fort Collins, Grand Junction, Greeley, Gunnison, Highlands Ranch, Lafayette, Lake George, Lakewood, Littleton, Longmont, Louisville, Loveland, Montrose, Northglenn, Penrose, Sterling, Telluride, Thornton, Westminster, and Woodland Park. As you can see canes are in need across the state. If you have not donated to the FREE White Cane Project, please consider doing so. $75.00 gives the gift of independence to someone who is blind. The Audio Trekker Hike is July 27th in Boulder. Thanks to the Lafayette, Louisville, Loveland, Longmont, Berthoud, and Loveland Downtown Clubs for supporting this fundraising hike! Everyone is welcome! Register and/or become a sponsor at www.aftersight.org/hike.
 
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Blind Golf Cart Races at the State Convention! It was a fun, funny, and fantastic fundraiser for the FREE White Cane Project! The smiles show the love, and thank you, Colorado Lions!
