Lion Jim Nussbaum Services and Obituary 
Lion James Nussbaum
09/12/1935 - 01/26/2021
Lion James Gordon Nussbaum, age 85, passed away peacefully on the evening of January 26, 2021. Jim was born on September 12,1935, in Joliet, Illinois. He graduated from the University of Illinois where he also received advanced education in finance and became a CPA.
 
Since 1971, Jim has lived in the Denver area where he and Helen raised their family. Helen passed in February, 2013. Jim had a highly successful and respected career as the Managing partner of Price, Waterhouse LLP, CPAs. He was also deeply involved in his Church and many professional, civic, and service organizations.
 
Lion James Nussbaum joined the Lions Club in Chicago in the 1960s and transferred to the Denver Lions Club in 1972. He served the Club as a director form 1975-1977 and from 1881-1985. He served as Vice President and then President in 1984-85. He also served as a trustee of the Denver Lions Foundation from 1978-81. He was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship in 2004. During his many years of membership, he sponsored more than 15 new members into the Club.
 
For the past five years Jim has shared his life and family with his loving wife, Linda, who now survives him along with his adoring children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The funeral will take place this Wednesday, February 3rd at 11:00am at OLOL.
 
Visitation: Tuesday February 2nd from 5:00PM-7:00PM at Horan & McConaty - the Parker Road Chapel.
 
Funeral Mass:  Wednesday, February 3rd at 11:00am  - Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church on east Arapahoe Rd
 
Burial:  Wednesday, February 3rd following the Mass - at St. Simeon

9Health Volunteer  Opportunities
“9Health urgently needs your help to cover COVID-19 testing sites with our new partner Colorado COVID Check (CCC).  We are looking for non-medical volunteers to help with traffic, registration and as runners.  Medical volunteers can perform the nasal swab.  The need to provide COVID testing across the State is greater than ever, so here are the basics of what you need to know:
 
Safety Precautions:
  • We will provide Face masks, Face shield, Full bodysuit and Gloves. 
When & Where are the COVID-19 Testing sites?:
  • Crossroads Church - 10451 Huron St, Northglenn, CO 80234
    • Wednesdays
    • 7am to 11am
    • Primarily needing non-medical volunteers
  • Seniors' Resource Center - 3227 Chase St, Denver, CO 80212
    • Thursdays
    • 1 to 5 pm
  • Arvada Covenant Church - 5555 Ward Rd, Arvada, CO 80002
    • Fridays
    • 11am to 3pm
  • Ethiopian Evangelical Church – 445 S. Lansing St, Aurora, CO 80012
    • Saturdays
    • 9am to 1pm
    • Primarily needing medical volunteers
Medical Volunteers Needed:
  • We are looking for 3 more medical volunteers (EMT, CNA, MA or RN) to help with preforming the nasal swab COVID-19 test on community members.
Non-Medical Volunteers Needed:
  • We are looking for more non-medical volunteers to help with traffic flow, check-in and other support roles during the testing process.

The next Lions District 6C convention is on April 10th.  To appear on the ballot a Lion needs to submit the Letter of Intent and an endorsement letter from the Club.   Both letters should be sent to:
