Lion Fletcher visited the Canadian Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center located in Calgary. They process and package glasses the same way we do, just on a larger scale. Eyeglasses are collected throughout Canada and sent to Calgary for processing. They are the only LERC in Canada. They have eight lens analyzers on site, plus two at a prison and two more in eastern locations for a total of twelve. They have volunteer days on Wednesday and Saturday, with 15 to 20 volunteers. They also have other organizations coming in to process glasses. Their processed glass goes all over the world. Their goal this year is to distribute 7 million glasses since they started 25 years ago. They are nearing their goal.
