We are starting to recruit for the Dragon Boat Racing team. This year, the Dragon Boat Festival is in the fall.

When: Race Day is Sunday, Sept 7
Time: Races start at about 8 am and go to early afternoon.
Where: Sloan’s Lake
- Who can be on the team: Lions, friends, or family of a Lion. If you are receiving this email, you qualify.
- I have never done this before: It is easy and does not require any skill. We will have practice sessions at Sloan’s Lake. It is more about timing than muscle.
- How long is the race: 250 meters and takes about 90 seconds.
- How many races: At least three races.
- What do I do between the races: Hang out at the team tent or enjoy the festival’s entertainment, displays, and marketplace.
- Can I bring the family? There is lots to do.
- Bragging rights: You can tell friends and family you are a dragon boat racer. How cool is that?
- Where did the team place last time: First place in our group. You can be on another winning team—more bragging rights.
